On Monday, March 7, Mr. Carver brought 2 students from AMS that will be performing with us for the opening number for Hooked. It was a wonderful experience for all of us. They not only showed us sweet dance moves BUT interacted with the players to get them to loosen up while dancing. THANK YOU, and please do return soon to help us again. On Monday we only got through scenes 1, 2 because we are still having to read lines to the players that are not prepared, therefore the others did not get to practice with props and set. Please read and practice your script everyday..I do not expect exact words but I would really like you to be your character so the story can be told. Everyone is working very well together and that is the key to a successful show. If you can’t remember the line , the dance move, or where to be, someone in your group will help you out. Remember, one of the goals of this project is to make others look as good as they can be ,as well as taking care of yourself. Practice on Monday, March 14, is for EVERYONE, starting with scene 3, but groups will work wtih other coaches on acting, singing, and dancing until it is time for your character to be on stage. See you there. Mr. Carver and I are so excited about the talent we have this year and the enthusiasm is contagious! After every practice we are pumped about HOOKED. LETS FOCUS AND FINISH.

As I sit here watching the Academy Awards tonight, I can only think that one of our Players could be there someday. We have the talent, passion, and resources to make a difference in each of our lives. By working together, practicing daily to develop a unique character in our acting, and taking a risk that will eventually lead to success, each and every player could someday be walking that red carpet. Mr. Carver and I can only be the vehicle that drives you, YOU must be the driver to get to the finish line of success. Therefore, on Monday, February 28 we will be working deligently to get each and everyone one of you headed in the right direction…2nd star and straight on to morning. Mr. Carver will be working with the pirates and lost kids on choreographing the battle, while I will be working with the remaining cast on delivery of lines, and characterization for scenes 10-5.
Please come prepared to do your finest acting. Mr Carver will be inviting some players to come on Friday, February 4, 2:40-4:00 to begin working on the opening performance of movers and shakers with the barrell drums. If you are selected it is important for you to attend Friday’s lesson; otherwise other students will be asked to take your place in the opening event. EVERY PRACTICE from now until May is mandatory; unless illness is the reason, Please think about how important your part is for everyone else to be their very best. We all rely on each other…this is not an alone activity. WE are very excited to begin working with the completed and beautiful scenery and props.
See you tomorrow***future stars of the academy awards****.

ALL players need to attend practice on Monday, Feb. 28. We will begin with scene 9 for the battle scene that Mr. Carver will choreograph then on to 10.. We will then go to scenes 1-5 where everyone will have their lines memorized. We will not be using scripts on those scenes. Practice this week was awesome as you can see in the pics so lets continue on with being in character and having lots of fun working together. We MUST show the audience just how talented we are. Music will be assigned, also. YOU need to be at every practice–others depend on YOU. Extraordinary Players ROCK ARGHHHHHHHHHH. Smee, will you sing for us one more time??????
